Department of Information Management
1.Organization, History and Duties
In order to use computer for carrying out statistics and analysis, Executive Yuan established “The Electronic Processing Business Information Planning Panel, Executive Yuan” on November 1, 1968, and which was changed into “Executive Yuan Electronic Professing Information Review Committee” on February 15, 1971. To implement organizational streamlining, Executive Yuan cut down and merged the review committee into the BAS system, and name it as “The Information Management Center of Directorate-General of Budget, Accounting and Statistics, Executive Yuan” in July 1972. In April 1979, the President explicitly published “The Organization Act of The Data Management Center of Directorate-General of Budget, Accounting and Statistics, Executive Yuan”, so that the organizational legislative process of the Center was completed. On December 31, 1983, to be in line with the business need, the business of every Section was appropriately adjusted for balanced development. On January 1, 2007, the information business and personnel of Sections 5 and 6 of the Central Region Office, were transferred into “Promotion Service Division”. Then on February 6, 2012, the Center was restructured as “Department of Information Management” as an internal business unit after the Organic Act of Directorate General of Budget, Accounting and Statistics, Executive Yuan was implemented.
Main Business:
(1) To plan, coordinate and promote the government BAS information application services strategies;
(2) To develop and promote government BAS common information systems;
(3) To carry out overall planning and promotion of budgetary and accounting information operation of central government and special fund;
(4) To carry out overall planning and promotion of budgetary and accounting information operation of municipality, and county (city) government;
(5) To carry out overall planning and promotion of statistical Census, and sampling survey information operation;
(6) To carry out overall planning and construction of BAS personnel information operation;
(7) To plan and manage the application environment of government BAS common information systems;
(8) To plan and promote the information and communication security of DGBAS.
2.Organizational Business Division
The Department with 59 persons as headcount is divided into a Counselor's Office and five Sections as follows:
(1) Counselor's Office
In charge of planning and development of government BAS information business, coordination and integration of cross-agency information operation, pre-review of the proposed information budget of Central government, study on information technology development, and application, formulation, review and interpretation of related system regulations.

(2) General Fund Information Section
In charge of overall planning and promotion of official budgetary and accounting informatization, and preparation of related standards, and development, operation and promotion of official budgetary and accounting information systems for central, municipality, and county (city) governments, as well as planning, coordination and implementation of information exchange and integration with other agencies.

(3) Special Fund Information Section
In charge of overall planning and promotion of budgetary and accounting informatization for special fund, and the trust fund managed by administrative institutions, as well as government-donated foundation, and preparation of related standards; planning and development of special fund budgetary and accounting information systems of central, municipality and county (city) government; as well as planning, coordination and implementation of information exchange and integration with other agencies.

(4) Statistics Information Section
In charge of planning and promotion of statistical operation informatization, and preparation of related standards; planning and implementation of statistical data processing operation and value-added application, and development, operation and promotion of common statistical information systems.

(5) Administrative Information Section
In charge of overall planning of various administration informatization with respect to BAS personnel, official document management, knowledge management, funds and property, plan control, and E-forms, and preparation of related standards; it also handles development, operation, promotion, coordination and management of administrative information system, and handles related integrated affairs.

(6) Service Management Section
In charge of planning, construction and management of DGBAS computer hardware and software resource, and overall Internet facilities; planning, development and promotion of internet services as WWW and eBAS system; planning and promotion of the DGBAS information and communication security; maintenance, operation and management of computer room and equipment.
