Total employment in June 2021 was 11,301,000, which decreased by 97,000(-0.85%) form the previous month’s level; moreover, it also decreased by 176,000(-1.53%) from that of the previous year.
The unemployment rate rose by 0.69 percentage points to 4.80 percent in June 2021; the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate also rose by 0.61 percentage points to 4.76 percent. The number of unemployed persons was 570,000 in June 2021, an increase of 81,000(+16.55%) and 97,000(+20.52%) from the previous month and that of the previous year, respectively.
Labor force participation rate declined by 0.06 percentage to 58.76 percent in June 2021; moreover, it also declined by 0.31 percentage points from that of the previous year.
