Manpower Survey Results in July 2021

      Total employment in July 2021 was 11,364,000, which increased by 63,000(+0.56%) form the previous month’s level; however, it decreased by 134,000(-1.16%) from that of the previous year.

      The unemployment rate declined by 0.27 percentage points to 4.53 percent in July 2021; the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate also declined by 0.40 percentage points to 4.36 percent. The number of unemployed persons was 539,000 in July 2021, it decreased by 31,000(-5.43%) but increased by 60,000(+12.51%) from the previous month and that of the previous year, respectively.

      Labor force participation rate rose by 0.19 percentage to 58.95 percent in July 2021; however, it declined by 0.25 percentage points from that of the previous year.
