Total employment in April 2016 was 11,242,000, which increased by 5,000(+0.05%) and 72,000 (+0.64%) from the previous month and that of the previous year, respectively.
The unemployment rate decreased by 0.03 percentage points to 3.86 percent in April 2016, however, the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate increased by 0.05 percentage points to 3.97 percent. The number of unemployed persons was 451,000 in April 2016, which decreased by 4,000(-0.82%) but increased by 30,000(+7.16%) from the previous month and that of the previous year, respectively.
Labor force participation rate was 58.63 percent in April 2016, a decrease of 0.01 percentage points but an increase of 0.12 percentage points from the previous month and that of the previous year, respectively.
