Manpower Survey Results in April 2019

      Total employment in April 2019 was 11,480,000, which increased by 2,000(+0.02%) and 74,000(+0.66%) from the previous month and that of the previous year, respectively.

      The unemployment rate decreased by 0.01 percentage points to 3.67 percent in April 2019; the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate, by contrast, increased by 0.01 percentage points to 3.73 percent. The number of unemployed persons was 437,000 in April 2019, which decreased by 1,000(-0.22%) but increased by 6,000(+1.48%) from the previous month and that of the previous year.

      Labor force participation rate was 59.06 percent in April 2019, which remained the same as the previous month; however, it rose by 0.20 percentage points from that of the previous year.
