Why the government still needs to conduct the Population and Housing Census when it already had household registration data, the real estate registration management system and the land administration information system?

The goal of the census is to gain an understanding of the quantity and characteristics of the resident population and the household as well as family formation, studying and working, health care, migration, and housing usage. The information derived from this census is provided to the government as a basis for the implement of national policies and infrastructure development, human capital planning, social welfare, housing policies as well as to the academic organizations and private groups to make research on the demography, social change, and urban-rural development related issues. The census statistics can further be compared with the results of censuses of other countries, allowing mutual understanding of demographic trends in different countries and enhancing international cooperation.<o:p></o:p></SPAN></P>
