Manpower Survey Results in December 2016

    Total employment in December 2016 was 11,315,000, which increased by 8,000(+0.07%) from the previous month; moreover, it also increased by 73,000 (+0.65%) from that of the previous year.

     The unemployment rate dropped by 0.08 percentage points to 3.79 percent in December 2016, the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate also decreased by 0.02 percentage points to 3.82 percent. The number of unemployed persons was 446,000 in December 2016, which decreased by 9,000(-2.00%) and 7,000(-1.50%) from the previous month and that of the previous year, respectively.

      Labor force participation rate was 58.80 percent in December 2016, which decreased by 0.02 but increased by 0.08 percentage points from the previous month and that of the previous year, respectively.
